Barbara Ellen Kirby passed away February 28, 2016. She was born January 13, 1933 in Navina, Oklahoma, to parents Oliver and Jamie Brown (Branson) Cornforth.

Mrs. Kirby was a secretary for over 45 years at the Brazosport ISD. She enjoyed being on the water and the outdoors. She had many great memories of her family spending time at Lake Tenkiller; camping, hiking, boating and swimming. She loved bird watching and all types of outdoor activities, taking day trips with her family to the countryside and on other adventures. In her later years she made her home on Lake Tenkiller because of the good memories there with her family. She loved to go to music festivals and concerts, loving Phil Collins and bluegrass, especially Allison Krause.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her three sisters, Margaret, Lucille, and Madelyn.

She is survived by her two sons, Richard Kirby and wife Nancy of Sulfur Springs, TX, and Carey Kirby of Oklahoma City, OK; two daughters, Terri L. Kirby of El Reno, OK, and Jane Westberry of Vian, OK; one granddaughter, Hanna Kirby of Sulfur Springs, OK; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Graveside funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, March 3, 2016 at the Navina Cemetery outside Guthrie, OK with Rev. Larry Cornforth officiating. Services are under the direction of Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary.
