Inez Rebecca (Gorton) Webb

Inez Rebecca Gorton Webb was born February 26, 1904 at Red Rock, Oklahoma to John and Sarah Gorton. Inez married Ottie C. Webb, July 28, 1921.  She was a telephone operator for 41 years.

After her husband passed away in 1960, she continued to operate their shoe repair service at Arnett, Oklahoma.  In 1971 she moved to Jones, Oklahoma to make her home with her son, Hank and his family.

She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge and was of Baptist faith.  She is survived by her son, Hank and his wife, Dortha of Jones, four grandchildren, Linda Schilling, Nancy Olson, Mike Webb, Jerry Webb, and ten great grandchildren, all  of Oklahoma City, nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren by her deceased son, Ottie, one brother and sister-in-law, John and Georganna Gorton of Checotah, one sister, Betty Alice White of Tonkawa, one sister-in-law, Eloise Gorton of Enid and numerous nieces and nephews.

Inez Rebecca Webb died January 28, 1987 at Baptist Hospital.  She was 82 years, 11 months, and 2 days old.  Services for Inez were Saturday January 31, 1987 at 10 a.m. in the Bill Eisenhour South-East Chapel, with gravesides services at Morris Heights Cemetery, Orlando, Oklahoma with Rev. Calvin Walker officiating.

Pallbearers were Mike, Webb, Greg Olson, Bill Coleman, Jerry Webb, Ron Schilling and John Hays.
