Averil Elaine Johnson
Born: October 22, 1950
Died: April 30, 2016

Averil Elaine Johnson was born on October 22, 1950 to Roy and Mary Smith of Meridian, Oklahoma.

Averil grew up, along with her siblings, in Meridian - attended grade school there, and graduated from Guthrie High School in 1968.

Averil was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Johnson, and her parents Roy and Mary Smith.

She leaves behind her two sons, John Lute and Christine and Chad Lute, all of Orlando; eight grandchildren, Hannah Lute of Oklahoma City, Julie Lute, John Lute, and Harley Lute, all of Guthrie, Braydn Lute, Lundyn Lute, Taylor Lute, and Keeghgn Lute all of Blackwell, Oklahoma. She is also survived by daughter-in-law, Shannon Spaulding of Guthrie; three siblings Becky Thurman of Oklahoma City, Mike Smith, Sr. and wife Quepha of Edmond, and Patti Chamberlain and Nick of Guthrie; sister-in-law, Carol Jean Duke and brother-in-law, Ronnie Lute. Also surviving her is her step-son, Paul Johnson of Guthrie and granddaughter Alyssa Johnson.

Averil was a local business owner in Guthrie for many years. She was also an insurance agent for Kellogg's and Heartland Agency. Averil was a very loved woman by all.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Smith Memorial Chapel with Chaplin Gene Owen officiating. Interment will be held at Meridian cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM
