Miles William Allen


Mr. Allen, had came to Oklahoma for the 1889 "Land Run". He bought a general store which also held a postoffice in 1895.. He ran the store and wife Lucy was the postmistress of Meridian Ok.

Allen had named the town Meridian after someone recommended it should be named "Allen"..
