William Arthur Brasch

Died: June 13, 2015

William Arthur Brasch, 84, passed away June 13, 2015. He was born April 22, 1931 in Davenport, Iowa, to Arnold Arthur and Rachel Mamie (Privia) Brasch.

William served in the U.S. Army from the 7th of November 1951 through the 22nd of August 1953. He served 1 year in France. He had his training in mechanics in Ft. Riley, Kansas for 3 months. His basic training was in Camp Cook, California.

Bill and Donna married June 1st, 1951 in Moline, Illinois. They gave birth to twins, Vicky Lynn and Dallas Wayne. The army had to pay $10 for the birth of Vicky because she was the second born.

Bill and Donna moved to Guthrie in 1955. They were members of the United Methodist Church and later transferred to Seward Road Baptist Church with son, Dallas, and grandson, Austin. William was employed by ODOT for 38 years as an equipment operator.

He was a life member of the VFW post 4578. Also a member of the American Legion post 58. He was a life member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and served as Governor, Past Governor, and Pilgrim in the Guthrie Chapter. He loved family, friends, and fishing.

William is preceded in death by his parents, twin son and daughter, Dallas and Vicky Brasch.

He is survived by his loving wife Donna, brother, Robert, and grandson, Austin.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 17th at Seward Road Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
