Kathleen Kincaid
May 16, 1923 - September 12, 2016

Kathleen (Waite) Martin Kincaid died Monday, September 12, 2016 at Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City, OK.

Born May 16, 1923 in Mulhall, OK, to Fred and Hazel (Keith) Waite, Kathleen attended school in Mulhall, played basketball and was drum major of the high school band. She married high school sweetheart Jack Lloyd Martin in 1940 and had 3 children, Fred, Robert, and Jacqueline "Jackie". Husband Jack passed away in 1947 and the family moved from a farm in Mulhall to live with her parents. She attended Draughon School of Business and accepted a job as secretary to the Guthrie Superintendent of Schools where she worked for 42 years retiring as Financial Secretary to the Guthrie Board of Education. In 1954, the Waite-Martin family moved to Edmond where her children grew up and graduated from the Edmond Schools.

In 1978, she married Robert "Earl" Kincaid. This created a blended family of 5 children and 14 grandchildren where holidays were celebrated in a special and memorable way in the home of "Gran and Gramps".

Kathleen lived a very full life. She enjoyed feeding and watching the birds in her backyard. Every spring, she planted a vegetable garden and flowers. She loved to play the piano and organ and forever thanked her teacher, Marjorie Winton and her mother for making her keep it up. She and Earl traveled extensively, visiting several states, including Hawaii, Alaska, and Canada. The backyard pool was a favorite for family events.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands, her brother Wendell Waite, her daughter, “Jackie” Cherry, and step-son Gary Kincaid. Those who survive her are 2 sons, Fred and Ginger Martin of Norman, Robert “Bob” and Geraldine Martin of Edmond, son-in-law, John and Karen Cherry of Edmond, 7 grandchildren: Hollie and Billy Etbauer, Rae Lynn and Jody Garrett, Chad and Molly Cherry, Kim and Shawn Priddy, Eric and MaryAnn Martin, Jake and Dena Cherry, Regina Martin, and Rye and Kristie Cherry, 19 Great-grandchildren, step-daughter-in-law, Florence Kincaid of Mulhall, and step-daughter Penny and Mickey Hampton of Moore, 6 step-grandchildren, and 14 step-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 special local cousins, Verla Waite of Edmond and Darrell Waite of Guthrie, and a host of other relatives and friends.
