Betty Lou Troyer
(September 21, 1933 - May 1, 2014)

Betty Lou Troyer was born September 21, 1933 in Crescent, Oklahoma to Ruben and Margaret (Handle) Anderson. She passed away May 1, 2014 in Guthrie, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years.

Ms. Betty had her own daycare center in Crescent and enjoyed not only raising her daughters and grandchildren, but also being a mother to MANY MANY children from other mothers. She loved Jesus and going to church, her faith was very strong, praying for her family and extended families always. She loved going to the movies with her mother when she was young and also enjoyed the beach and traveling with her brothers and sisters. Her biggest travel day was Memorial Day, remembering all her loved ones that had gone on to heaven. Betty’s biggest joy was playing Wahoo on the board her father made. She also enjoyed playing bingo, cards, farkle, and skip-bo. Another hobby was going to Wal-Mart for HOURS and gardening her summer flowers. Betty watched Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and Sponge Bob with Reece. She treasured each and every grandchild, which she believed was heaven sent. Her love will always live in their hearts.

Survivors include her daughters, Vickie Barnett and husband Anthony , Pamela Milligan and husband Kenneth, Betty Kay Sabolovich and husband David, and Sheri Winegeart all of Crescent; son-in-law, Donnie Hicks of Crescent; nine grandchildren, Stephanie Brown, Bradley Hicks, Nathan Milligan, Kayla Kinney, Amy and Bo Winegeart, Debbra, Tresa and Michelle Sabolovich; eight great grandchildren, Ashley, Braden, and Reece Brown, Zander and Jensen Milligan, Harley Kinney, Nick and Abigail Hicks; one great great grandchild, Kamdynn Brown. She is preceded in death by her husband, Junior Troyer, daughter, Mary Lou Hicks, granddaughter, Mary Dawn Hicks, three brothers, Alvin, Lawrence, and Laten Anderson and by two sisters, Opal Adams and Dorothy Elmore.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 5, 2014 at the First Christian Church in Crescent with Gene Owen and Pastor Keith Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in the Crescent Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Abernathy Aaron Funeral Home in Crescent.
