Owen is survived by three sons, Shane A. Taylor and wife Niki, Matthew O. Taylor and wife Shauna, and Dustin L. Taylor; one daughter, Jenifer Savage and husband Harlin; one step-daughter, Brook Gardner; four granddaughters, Susan, Summer, Ruby, and Brigette; three sisters, Marva Beavers, Kathleen Taylor, and Carla Gathright; one brother, Dallas Woods and wife Teresa; two ex-spouses, Donna Taylor-Phillips, Linda Hubble-Taylor, and Gary Gardner; five nieces, Annessa Self, Shanna Gathright, Heather Danielson; two great-nieces, Bailey and Haley; eight nephews, Marty Musil, Robert Gathright, Christopher Ellis, Timothy Taylor, Frank Jr. Taylor, Dallas Jr. Taylor and two step-nephews, Byran and Wendall, and numerous other family and friends.

Owen grew up in Crescent where he graduated from high school with top honors. After a short stint in Oklahoma City where he worked at the Stockyard’s Bank while attending college classes. He moved to Fairview where he started his family and worked for the Republic Service Supply for 12 years. Own and his sons moved to Norman in 1987 and there he gained employment by Conoco Petroleum Company. He continued employment there for 16 years, after which time he retired.

Owen was a man of multiple talents, he cooked, sewed, baked, canned, raised cattle, raised chicken, and butchered the meat that went on the table. Throughout Owen’s life he never met a person that he did not find a mutual bloodline or “at least” a friend to them. He was unrelenting in his effort to prove what a small world we live in and the darndest thing about that was that he never failed! Owen’s heart was an “open door”, he was a father, mother, and brother to all. He could always be trusted for an engaging smile and an infectious laugh. His presence will be miss by "probably millions". Own had faith that we will all one day see him again at Heaven’s Gate.

MAY GOD REST HIS PRECIOUS SOUL!!

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, November 28, 2008 at the Abernathy Aaron Funeral Chapel in Crescent with Rev. Mike Channel officiating. Burial will follow at the Crescent Cemetery. Family and friends may sign the online guest book at abernathyaaron.com.
