CRESCENT - The funeral for J .F. “Jim” McKaig, 90, who died Saturday at Crescent Care Center, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Abernathy Funeral Home. The Rev. Sunny Rogers will officiate. Burial will be in the Crescent Cemetery.

He was born Jan. 8, 1899, in Olathe, Kan. He worked in the oilfields from the 1920s to the 1970s. He also was a cattleman and rancher. On June 19, 1923, he married Blanche Norman in Los Angeles, Calif.

Surviving are his wife; one son, Jack of Crescent; one daughter,Peggy Lyles of Crescent; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and one grandson.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Crescent Ambulance Trust.
