Bessie Lee Klopfenstein

Funeral services for Bessie Lee Klopfenstein were held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Crescent with Rev. Bryan Haynes officiating.

Burial followed at the Crescent Cemetery under the direction of Abernathy - Aaron Funeral Home. A viewing was held on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday 8:30 a.m. 12 p.m. at the funeral home.

Bessie Lee was born September 26, 1926 to Cloyd and Velma Wilson and died on Jun 20, 2006 at Select Specialty Hospital in Oklahoma City following a brief illness.

She grew up on a farm northwest of Crescent and attended school in Crescent graduating in 1944.

Her first job was in a dime store. She later began working at the Bank of Crescent retiring in 1986 as Vice President.

On October 7, 1950 she married Floyd Klopfenstein and they lived in Crescent until 1971 when he was transferred to Chickasha. The family returned to Crescent in 1973 and she remained here since that time. After retirement she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Crescent where she served as a Sunday school teacher and in WMU. She was also active in Alpha Study Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Floyd a niece and a nephew.

She is survived by a daughter, Susan Hodges and husband David of Clinton; a son Steve Klopfenstein and wife Vickie of Crescent; a brother Jim Wilson and wife Sue of Crescent; four grandchildren; Carolyn Hodges of Weatherford; Kyla Hodges of Clinton; Brad Klopfenstein of Crescent; and Katie Klopfenstein of Crescent; five nieces and four nephews.
