ALFRED RAY ELSTON
CRESCENT - The funeral for Alfred Ray Elston, 63, who died Sunday in a Guthrie hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church at Crescent. The Revs. Fred King and Larry Stevens will officiate. Burial will be in the Crescent Cemetery under direction of Abernathy Funeral Home.
Elston was born June 12, 1921, west of Guthrie to Ples C. and Minnie McGuire Elston. He was a farmer and stockman and had lived most of his life in the Crescent and Guthrie areas. He and Allie Mae Hacks were married Aug. 25, 1941, at Kingfisher.
Survivors include his wife, Allie; one son, Stanley Elston, Crescent; three daughters, Mrs. Joe (Wilma) Sexton, Guthrie, Mrs. Ted (Linda) Sebring, Stillwater, and Wanda Thomason, Crescent; three sisters, Mrs. Joe (Velma) Eubanks and Mrs. Orin (Faye) Wallar, both of Guthrie, and Mrs. George (Eva) McCatchen, Bowie, Texas; eight grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son in 1977, his parents, three brothers, one sister and one granddaughter.
