James A. Clanin
(April 4, 1929 - April 6, 2007)

James Albertus Clanin was born April 4, 1929 and died April 6, 2007 at the age of 78 years, 2 days. He was born to James Olin Clanin, MD, and Whilma Eleanor (Powell) Clanin in Oklahoma City and attended school in Crescent, OK all 12 years.

After attending OU two years and Hill's Business College, he joined the United States Air Force and proudly served his country 21 years, 1 month, and 1 day, retiring at Lowry AFB, Colorado on June 1, 1972. Jim was stationed many places, including Biloxi, MS, Charleston, SC, Japan, France and Viet Nam.

Shortly after Jim retired he moved to George West, TX, where he worked for the school system, became an EMT, a reserve deputy sheriff, jailer, and bailiff in the Live Oak County law enforcement system.

He was a member of the Masons and American Legion, a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a member of the Lions Club of Yukon.

Jim is survived by his wife, Sue Monroe Clanin and four children; James Michael (Brenda) of Washington, Susan Kathleen (Carl) Marion, Jack Barton, and Patrick Alan (Sheri), all of Oklahoma City; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three half sisters, two half brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 21, 2007 at the Crescent Cemetery.
