Mary Irene Barker
(November 26, 1926 - April 7, 2013)

Funeral services for Mary Irene Barker will be held Thursday April 11th 10:00, at the First Baptist Church in Crescent.

Mary Irene Curtis was born Nov. 23, 1926 on an farm north of Crescent, to Walter and Julia Curtis. Mary spent her younger years playing with her brother and two sisters. She graduated from Crescent High School. She later met her husband John A Barker and they were married in 1948. They lived on a farm in the Dover area, before moving north of Crescent in 1968. John and Mary farmed on the family farm before John’s passing in 1978. Mary continued to stay on the farm working at the Crescent Nursing home and later as a butcher at Larry’s store before retiring. After retiring Mary enjoyed her grandchildren, cooking, farming, quilting and gardening. She became ill and moving to the Golden Age nursing home in 2010 were she enjoyed the friends that she made there and family, before passing away Sunday April 7th 2013, in Mercy Hospital at Oklahoma City.

She was survived by two sons Gene E. Barker and wife Donna of Crescent, grandchildren John and Dannelle Barker of Crescent, son Gary W. Barker and wife Lita Barker of Guthrie, grandchildren Harold Barker and wife Laura, great grandchildren Addison and Quinn of St Louis, Missouri and Steven Barker of Louisiana. One sister Nancy Barker and husband Coye Barker of Kingfisher , one brother in law, Delbert Brown of Huston Texas. And a host of other relatives. Proceeding her in death, husband John A Barker, Sister Ruth Brown, Brother Daniel Curtis.
