Born: January 02, 1919
Died: May 25, 2016

Martha Kathryn (Skinner) Dobson, 97, of Coyle peacefully departed this life at Mercy Hospital Logan County in Guthrie. She was born in Bartlesville to Charles B Skinner and Ora Dessie (Jones) Skinner on January 2, 1919.

Being blessed with three older brothers and three younger brothers she learned at an early age what being a responsible member of a family meant. Martha graduated from Bartlesville High School as an honor student. While attending Oklahoma A&M College in Stillwater she met and married Keith Leroy Dobson from Coyle on June 16, 1938. They became farmers at Coyle. They were blessed with four children. Martha and Keith modeled hard work and shared responsibility to all their children and inspired them to become Christian honor students who are well educated. When she became a widow in 1970 she was determined that it would not ruin her life. Martha did relief work at Coyle Post Office, became secretary to the superintendent of Coyle School, and kept books for the School Activity Fund and the School Lunch Fund. After her retirement from Coyle Public School she remained as school Treasurer, working a total of 31 years for Coyle school. Martha was a 70-year member of Oklahoma Extension Homemakers and a 60-year member of the Oklahoma Order of the Eastern Star. She was a 15-year volunteer at Logan County Hospital and prepared income taxes for over 30 years. Martha was a devoted Christian member and supporter of the Coyle Christian Church where she was church Treasurer and taught children's Sunday School for many years.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband Keith, her parents, and four brothers Loren, Charles, Bill, and Francis.

She is survived by her children Kathryn Ann Sisney of Arlington, TX, Marilyn Sue (Susie) Williams and husband Earl of Tahlequah, Carl Leroy Dobson and wife Georgia of Stillwater, and James Keith Dobson and wife Jeanne of Coyle and brothers Fred Skinner of Tulsa and Joe Skinner and wife Louise of Ponca City. She was blessed by 11 grandchildren: Beverly Guadagnolo and husband Tony; Steve Sisney and wife Tricia; Brenda Feeny and husband Steve; Terry Williams and wife Christie; Connie Williams and husband David; Dan Dobson and wife Lisa; Matt Dobson and wife Marie; Laura Dobson; Jeremy Dobson and wife Kelsey; Kendall Dobson; and James Dobson and 16 great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank Companion Hospice, Golden Age Nursing Home of Guthrie, Golden Oaks Village of Stillwater, Mercy Hospital Logan County, and Coyle Christian Church for their love, care, professionalism, and companionship during our mother's declining years. We also wish to thank two special friends Lorraine McGee and Jill Dobson Simmons for their love and going the extra mile.

Contributions in memory of Martha Dobson may be made to Coyle Christian Church, Box 151, Coyle, OK 73027 or Coyle School Foundation, Box 122, Coyle.

A closed casket funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Coyle Christian Church. Interment will follow at Coyle Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.

There will be no visitation.
