Stephen Alan Kendall, 80, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2020. He was born September 3, 1940 in Guthrie, OK to George and Elizabeth Kendall on their family farm.

He was a graduate of Guthrie High School in 1959. He then went to OSU where he graduated with a Master’s degree in Horticulture. He married Joan Frances Gazo in 1975 at St. Edwards Church in Little Rock, AR. Together they had a son, Joseph John Kendall in 1982. He then graduated from the University of Maryland with a PhD in Horticulture. Steve worked at the Oklahoma Dept. of Agriculture until he retired.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He greatly enjoyed gardening at home and beekeeping.

He was preceded in death by his wife Joan.

He is survived by his son Joseph (Alyson), granddaughter Katarina, brother John Kendall, sisters-in-law Anna Mae Gazo, Stephanie Breckenridge (Charlie), nephews William John Kendall, David Kendall, Ethan Breckinridge and niece Carly Hood.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Guthrie, OK on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 10 AM followed by burial at Cooper Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home.

There will not be any visitation.
