Paul Ann Dougherty Pedigo

pedigo-p-a

July 14, 1956 ~ April 29, 2025

Paula Ann (Dougherty) Pedigo went to her heavenly home on April 29, 2025, at her home in Wellston at the age of 68.

Paula was born on a Saturday morning, on July 14, 1956, at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was the 1st child and only daughter of Edward Paul (Eddie) and Patricia Ann (Patsy) Schachle Dougherty. They lived in Wewoka after Paula was born. Every year there was a new child born & she had 4 younger brothers in no time. They lived in Oklahoma City until Eddie's dad died and they moved to the farm in Wellston to help Grandma Dougherty in August 1966. The kids ran all over the 240 acres and they had fun exploring all over and in Fallis with the Russell girls and the Millers. All the Dougherty children graduated from Wellston Schools, with Paula graduating with the Wellston High School class of 1974. She enjoyed celebrating her 50th class reunion in 2024.

Paula met Wes Pedigo through Elnora Miller & Elbert Stumpf in 1977. Paula & Wes were married the following year on May 5, 1978, at Will Rogers Park in OKC. They had 2 children, Seth Jared & Rachel Nicole (Nikki). They were blessed with 10 grandchildren- all their true blessings.

Paula's 1st job was babysitting for McLain's & other families around town and working at the high school cafeteria. Her 1st office job was at the Edmond Medical center for 3 years as a medical transcriptionist where she met her best friend of 50 years, Pam Burton. She started at the Edmond Police department in 1979 as the secretary for the Detective Division for 4 years. In 1984 she started as the Chief of Staff for Tony Puckett, MD, for 11 years. She then transferred to Dean Carpenter, MD for 10 years. She also worked for Oklahoma Orthopedics Incorporated for Dr. Mueller, Steves and Barrett for 10 years, all doing medical transcription. Her final job until retirement was with the Oklahoma Medical Examiner's office as the receptionist/dispatcher for 10 years, until she retired in 2021. She loved this job & her work family. She was also a Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church in Wellston for several years as well as a Girl Scout troop leader for her daughters Troop 43. She was a volunteer firefighter & secretary for Fallis Fire Dept for about 5 years.

Paula & Wes enjoyed traveling, going to Lake Eufaula for many years for vacations to fish, swim and build sandcastles with the family. They loved camping, spending time with family and friends at gatherings and always eating delicious food and going to watch basketball games. Paula also enjoyed sewing and crafting, specially making floral arrangements and scrapbooking.

Paula was preceded in death by her parents Eddie and Patsy Dougherty, her brother Mickey Dougherty and infant brother Vincent Dougherty, by both her Dougherty and Schachle grandparents, Bessie Pedigo, Joyce Warner, her grandson Judah Pedigo, as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins, friends & family.

Paula is survived by her husband of nearly 47 years, Wes Pedigo of the home; children, Seth Pedigo & wife Elizabeth of Cresent OK, Nikki Allen and husband Jeremy of Wellston Ok, 9 grandchildren, Mariah & Maddie Allen both of Wellston, OK, Brighton, Maggie, Owen, Ella, Hannah, KJ & Charlie Pedigo, all of Cresent, OK.
