Fern Eva Denison Horton

Fern Eva (Denison) Horton was born September 23, 1945 in Chandler, Oklahoma to Bob and Martha (Saak) Denison. She passed away November 23, 2023 in Yukon at the age of 78.

Fern attended Chandler Public Schools graduating with the Chandler High School class of 1963. The following October, she married James Charles "J.C." Horton. They were blessed with 2 children, James Lynn and Janice Kay.

Fern resided in Wellston until J.C's passing in 2014 when she moved to Mustang and later Yukon where she remained until her passing. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Wellston and most recently Chisholm Heights Baptist Church in Mustang. She loved to play the piano and sing. Fifth Sunday Sings were her favorite.

Fern was preceded in death by her parents, Martha and Bob Denison; son, James Lynn; brother, Roy Denison and the true love of her life J.C. Horton.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Janice and Robert Neese, of the home; grandchildren, Zachary (Mady) Evans of Broken Arrow, Jordan (Cole) Poland of Oklahoma City, Coby, Makayla and Owen Neese of the home; 2 great-grandchildren, Bash and bb Poland; along with other family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 27, 2023 at Trinity Baptist Church in Wellston with interment following in the Wellston Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
