Troy William Evans

Troy William Evans was born December 24, 1937 in Wellston to Clecil and Bertha (Danker) Evans. He passed away in his home May 4, 2023 at the age of 85.

Troy lived in Wellston his entire life except for 3 years when his father moved them to Texas. Troy graduated from Wellston High School with the class of 1956. He married Cara Jean (Curtis) in 1959 and they raised two children together. Following her passing in 2009, he later married Jeanette (Russell) in 2015.

Troy worked for various road construction companies throughout his life. He farmed his entire life and served Lincoln County as County Commissioner later in life. Troy loved helping people and genuinely enjoyed driving through the fields harvesting crops.

Troy was preceded in death by his parents, Clecil and Bertha (Danker) Evans; stepmother, June Osborn; siblings, Jennifer Fowler, Iris Christy, and Roy Evans. Survivors include his loving bride of 8 years, Jeanette Evans of the home; children, Kim Evans of Stigler, Darla Steffenson and her husband Robert of Wellston, Regina James and her husband Donald of Chandler, Charles Russell and his wife Stephanie of Wellston; (9) grandchildren; (11) great-grandchildren; siblings, Kathryn Olds of Edmond, Marvin Evans and his wife Deanna of Wellston, Larry Evans and his wife Donna of Chandler, Karen Springer and her husband Harold of Oklahoma City.

A funeral was held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 11, 2023 at the Trinity Baptist Church in Wellston with interment following in the Wellston Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
