Chester Eugene Duncan

Chester Eugene Duncan, Sr. was born August 1, 1956 in Chandler to Herman and Ethel (Dibler) Duncan. He passed away May 5, 2023 in Tecumseh at the age of 66.

Chester grew up in Wellston where he attended school graduating with the Wellston Class of 1974. He enjoyed woodworking, dominos, beer can baseball, scavenger hunts for his grandchildren, crafts and cooking. He won the Betty Crocker Award in High School for his cooking.

Chester had an extensive career in public service where he served as a police officer in Wellston and Lincoln County as well as many years as the Town of Wellston Administrator.

Chester was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Ethel Duncan; granddaughters, Kayla Williams and Charity Hendrickson. Survivors include his significant other and caregiver, Janie Duncan of Tecumseh; children, Emily Bentley and husband Alan of Sand Springs, Chet Duncan, Jr and his wife Crystal of Ripley, Nickolas Duncan and his wife Esperanza of Tryon; Joe Bennett and wife Christi of McLoud, Shawn Hunter and husband K.C. of Moore, Misty Hendrickson and husband Mike of Seminole; siblings, Freda Park of Checotah, Herb Duncan and wife Sue of Idaho, Betty Nittler and husband David of Edmond, Teddy Duncan of Wellston, Cathy West and husband Brent of Midwest City; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other family and friends too many to name.

A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2023 in the Lehman Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Wellston Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
