Dorothy Jean Robertson Cole

Dorothy Jean Cole was born January 31, 1943 in Eldorado, Oklahoma to Elmer and Ruth Roberson. She passed away May 3, 2022 in Wellston at the age of 79.

Dorothy grew up in Atoka and Lane Oklahoma where she met the love of her life and married Merl Cole. She was a homemaker raising their two children. Dorothy was active in her church. She enjoyed gardening and canning and music of which she played the French harp, harmonica, 12-string guitar, and piano. She loved her grandchildren and spending time with her family.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Ruth Roberson; husband of 45 years, Merl Cole; brothers, Leroy Roberson, Carl Roberson, Chester, Roberson, Junior Roberson, and Leon Roberson. Survivors include her children, Lesa Bane and her husband Richard of Perkins, Michael Cole and fiancé Stacy Payne of Perkins; grandchildren, Amber Burton, Tyler Bane, Tanner Bane, Megan Dahl, Madison Ross; great-grandchildren, Bailee, Kaycee, Haelee, Jacee, Dawson, Braxton, Maddox, Rhett and 2 more on the way, Branson and Hudson; sister, Lillie James; brothers, Zelbert Roberson, Charles Roberson, S.L. Roberson, Bill Roberson; along with other family and friends.

A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2022 at the Wellston Christian Church with interment following in the Wellston Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
