James Edward Brison

brison-j-e

March 17, 1948 ~ September 20, 2023

James Edward Brison was born March 17, 1948 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Edna Hogan Brison and James Franklin Brison. He was the baby of 6 children and passed away September 20, 2023 in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 75.

Eddie graduated from Holliday, Texas in 1966. He played football for Holliday where he was All District Defensive Tackle. He enjoyed music and decided to teach himself to play the drums and start a band. The band fizzled out, but he always found a way to drum on something, counter tops, steering wheels, fishing boat, it didn't matter where, but he always had a beat going.

Eddie moved to Odessa, Texas in 1968 where he began working for the Robert's Ranch Gas Plant. He worked for 30 years before retiring and settling down in Eufaula, Oklahoma. He got his CDL License and drove a truck for 10 more years before retiring for good.

His all-time favorite past time was fishing, fishing and more fishing but he loved home cooking, fish fry's and above all his family. He loved the Lord with his shole heart and every time he ate a meal he prayed for every single family member he could think of. He looked forward to the family reunions along with the games that were played and the food that was brought.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Edna Marie Brison and James Franklin Brison; twin sisters, Lula Richards and Beulah Minnix; sister, Wanda Jean Threet; brother, Charles Wesley Brison as well as several nieces and nephews. Survivors include daughters, Shannon Wilson and her husband Marty of Springfield, MO, Tara Black and her husband Chris of Del Rio, TX; sister, Harlene Ann Minnix of Grand Prairie, TX; 4 grandchildren, Haley Brison, Hunter Wilson both of Springfield, MO, Taylor Black, Tyler Black both of Del Rio, TX; 1 great-grandchild, Emersyn Grace Brison along with other family and friends.

A graveside funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2023 at the Wellston Cemetery with Reverend Guy Minnix Officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
