Robert "Joe" Remington, 73, of Prague, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Joe was born on May 9, 1952, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to Robert L. "Bob" Remington and Florence Lorene (Manning) Remington. He was raised in Stroud, Oklahoma, where he graduated from Stroud High School in 1970. Joe went on to earn his bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma, proudly becoming a lifelong Sooner fan.
On December 27, 1971, Joe married the love of his life, Deborah Ann Warden. Together, they built a life grounded in love, faithfulness, and hard work, raising three children, Brandon, Tyler, and Megan.
A Certified Public Accountant, Joe began his career at Norman Plumbing Supply while attending college. He later worked for Worthington Pump and then served as a plant manager at Wolverine for 19 years. After leaving Wolverine, Joe founded Remington Tax Service in Prague, where he developed a loyal clientele who trusted and admired his expertise and integrity.
Joe was a man known for his generosity and unwavering faithfulness, to his family, his clients, his church, and his community. He was a dedicated and active member of Prague First Christian Church, where he served with commitment and joy. Whether contributing to local fundraisers or helping someone in need, Joe never hesitated to go above and beyond. His warm heart and steady presence touched the lives of many.
He found joy in the simple pleasures of life-spending Saturdays immersed in college football, especially cheering on the Oklahoma Sooners, maintaining a beautiful lawn and garden, and grilling outdoors. Joe had a love for classic Americana, including the music of Elvis Presley, The Rolling Stones, Neil Diamond, and the timeless films of John Wayne.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Christopher Warden.
Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 53 years, Deborah Ann Remington; his children, Brandon Remington and his partner, Diana Whitson, Tyler Remington and Megan Remington; his brother, John Remington and his wife, Mary; his sister, Laleta Baker; sister-in-law, Deanna Fridrich and her husband, Wayne; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his beloved dogs, Gizzy, Clemson, and Spirit; and a host of extended family members and friends.
