George Truman "Butch" Jepsen, III, 68, passed away from this life on May 9th, 2025, at the SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital in Shawnee. George was born on October 27th, 1956, in Prague, OK, to George Jepsen, Jr. and Lloydell Joyce (Oplinger) Jepsen. He graduated from Prague High School in 1975 and got his associate’s degree at Okmulgee Tech.
He married the love of his life, Diane Jepsen, on July 14th, 1978 and the following year welcomed their daughter Rhiannon.
George worked for Boeing in Wichita, KS, from 1978 until 1983. The couple moved to Meeker in 1983 and later moved to Shawnee. He worked for Exxon/Mobile until he retired in 2014. George was a big OU fan, attending many games throughout his lifetime.
George is preceded in death by his parents, George Jr. and Lloydell, his sister Joyce Marsh, and nephew Kyle Martin.
Survivors include his wife Diane Jepsen; daughter Rhiannon Jepsen of Shawnee, sister Jane and husband Alan Martin of Prague; and granddaughter Corrie Jepsen and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on May 13th, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague, OK, 1405 W Main Street, Prague, OK 74864. A graveside service will be held on May 14th, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Prague Cemetery, 1409 US-62, Prague, OK 74864.
