James Ervin (Buddy) McLain

James Ervin "Buddy" McLain was born November 16, 1950 in Chandler to Pug and Christine McLain. He passed away October 26, 2022 at the age of 71. Buddy grew up in the Chandler, Warwick and Wellston area. He joined the United States Army and served a 15-month tour in the Vietnam War. He worked for Tinker Air Force Base for 35 years as a sheet metal mechanic. Buddy could fix anything and enjoyed guns, cars, trucks, history and ice-cream. Buddy was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Donna McLain of the home; children, Darrin McLain of Shawnee, Shela McLean and husband Billy of Moore; grandchildren, Montanna, Taylor, and Kysan McLain, Gentry and Pierce Mitchell; siblings, Shirley Quinn and husband Vernon of Stroud, Wayne McLain and wife Ronna of Wellston, Sherri Quinn and husband Chuck; along with other family and friends. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. till 4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2022. A graveside funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2022 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery in Chandler. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
