November 16, 1935 ~ May 15, 2023

Marcus Leo Martin, 87, of Paden, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023, surrounded by many of his beloved family and friends. Marcus was born on November 16, 1935, to August Leo and Johnnie Martin in Paden, Oklahoma. After graduating from Paden High School in 1954, he proudly served his country by joining the United States Army. While in the Army, Marcus served a tour in Korea and two tours in Vietnam. He married Mavis Thompson on November 18, 1956. Marcus and Mavis raised two children, Edna and Leo. Marcus retired from the Army after twenty years of service in 1974. Following his retirement from the Army, Marcus and Mavis owned and operated Martin's 62 Mart for 29 years. Marcus was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mavis, in October of 2017.

On March 30, 2019, Marcus married Mae McNulty and the two were happily married for four years. They resided at his home in Paden. Together, they have a large family and enjoyed the Easter gathering. They were very active in their church, the Prague First Assembly of God. They also enjoyed spending time at Happy Hollow RV Park at Lake Eufaula.

Marcus was survived by his wife, Mae Martin; his son, Leo Martin and his wife, Liz; his daughter, Edna Young; three bonus children, Bobby Musgrove, De'na Hubert and her husband, Danny and Denise Ballard and her husband, Steve; four grandchildren, Micaela, Dalton, Madison and Paul and eight bonus grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and 24 bonus great-grandchildren and three bonus great, great-grandchildren and many cherished family and friends.

Anyone who knew Marcus, knew he was proud of his family and of his service to his country. He loved spending time at church and with his church family. He especially enjoyed sponsoring kids at summer youth camp. Marcus lived a life full of fun, laughter, shenanigans and lots of mischief! Wherever you fit in his life, we hope you have a fond memory to smile about. Marcus was a loyal Christian, son, brother, nephew, soldier, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather but most of you called him friend.
