MARY KATHERINE STITES
1944 - 2013


Mary Katherine Ludwig Stites, 69, passed away November 17, 2013.
She was born on January 20, 1944 to Orlando Sol Ludwig and Sadie Peters Ludwig in Alhambra, Illinois.
She graduated from Edwardsville, Illinois High School in 1962 and Seminole State College in 1975.
Mary joined the US Army in 1962 and was honorably discharged in 1964.
She married Daniel Stites in San Jose, California in 1964 and to them was born their daughter, Debra in 1970.
Mary worked as a postal clerk for San Jose, California aircraft maintenance at Tinker; and in real estate as a salesman, broker and appraiser.
She retired as a rural mail carrier from the Chandler, Oklahoma post office in 1989.
She loved gardening, landscaping, bird watching, reading and spending time with family and friends.
Mary is survived by her husband, Dan of the home; daughter, Debra and granddaughter Danielle of Wellston; brother, Bill Ludwig of Moro, Illinois; sister, Laura Favre of Genesco, Illinois; numerous nieces, nephews cousins and many, many friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the Wellston First Baptist Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
