GLADYS SPOON
1920 - 2016

Gladys Harper Spoon, beloved wife, mother and grandma, was born on May 17, 1920, in McLoud, Oklahoma, and went to Heaven on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 96.
Gladys, the daughter of Raymond and Ida Parker Harper, was a resident of Meeker.
She was a beloved mother, wife and grandma.
She married Elvis Casson Spoon on October 15, 1938 in Chandler, Oklahoma.
Gladys loved to read, garden and cook. She also had a great love for her hummingbirds, at times having as many as 50 different birds requiring a daily refill for her 5 hummingbird feeders.
Gladys was tremendous at sewing, she made all of her children’s clothes as they grew up and always kept her husband and son in a new western style shirt.
Her most beloved time however was spent with her family; her grandchildren were the light of her life.
Her husband of 59 years, parents, two brothers, S.T. Harper and Jay W. Harper, her sister, Lillie Green, two grandchildren, Cassie and Sari Jackson and two great grandchildren, Elizabeth Gentry and Zoie Brown preceded her in death.
Gladys is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Regina Spoon; daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn Sue and Larry Barker, Darla and Kenneth Gouker; brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Betty Harper; grandchildren; Rick Spoon, Angie Spoon, Gayla Jackson, Doyle Gentry, James Gentry and Tommy Gentry; great grandchildren, Bridget Jones, Cassie Chowning, Whittney Chowning, Cody Gentry, Nicole Gentry, Lindsey Gentry, Madyson Gentry and Anna Gentry; nineteen great great grandchildren; and many other family and friends.
As Gladys requested there will be no service.
Arrangements are under direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
