1922 - 2001
Davenport resident Frankie Cora Hensley Snell, 78, died Sunday in Davenport. She was 78.Mrs. Snell was born August 9, 1922, in London, Kentucky, the daughter of Wiley and Bama Hensley.On February 11, 1943, she married Walter Robert Snell in Newvern, North Carolina.Mrs. Snell was a homemaker, and was a member of the First Christian Church, Stroud.Preceding her in death were her parents.Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Susan Snell of Stroud; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Mike McGuigan of Simi Valley, California; sisters, Alma Gump of Hartwell, Ohio; Nancy Brockman of Springdale, Ohio; and Jane Meyer of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren and their spouses, Brian and Tammy Snell, Davenpor; Erin and Jayson Wimmer, Simi Valley; and Devin McGuigan of Simi Valley; three great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.Memorial services will be 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church in Stroud with the Rev. Sandy Chace officiating.Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Services in Stroud.Memorials may be made to Caring Hand Hospice in Stroud or the American Cancer Society.Published May 8, 2001.
