JOHN ALBERT SHINN
1941 - 2014


John Albert Shinn was born January 3, 1941 in Edmond to Luther Todd Shinn and Beryl Nichols.
He passed away July 27, 2014 in Carney at the age of 73.
John grew up in Edmond and graduated from Edmond High School in 1959.
He married Lucinda Marie LeGate in 1963.
He drove a truck for Oklahoma Furniture and DIF Trucking for many years.
He was a long time member of the Carney Baptist Church serving as their bus driver, trustee, and whatever else they needed.
He enjoyed NASCAR and OSU sports.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Beryl.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Lucinda Shinn of the home; children, Dennis D. Shinn of Carney; Debra L. Dietz and her husband Alan of Edmond; Robin L. Vogel-Smith of Roseburg, Oregon; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Jessie Marie Boyd of Anchorage, Alaska; and a host of other family and friends who will miss his kind heart and sense of humor.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Carney.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
