BENJAMIN FLOYD PITTMAN
1935 - 2016


Benjamin Floyd Pittman of Wellston, Oklahoma was born on January 5, 1935 in Morris, Oklahoma and passed away Friday, April 1, 2016 in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 81.
The son of Elton Turner Pittman and Etta Mae Howard Pittman, he met and married Patsy Jo Kirby on May 10, 1953 in Fresno, California.
He attended Sulphur Schools and spent most of his working years as a truck driver for Lee-Way Motor Freight in Oklahoma City. He was also employed by General Motors in Oklahoma City as a pipefitter until his retirement in 2002. After retiring, he went back to work as a driver for O’Day Trucking of Wellston.
Ben was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Pat; his parents; sisters, Edna Rasmussin and Bernice Patton; and a granddaughter, Lindsay Pittman.
He is survived by his sons, Wes Pittman and wife Martha of Shawnee; Steve Pittman and wife Pam of Wellston; grandchildren, Bryan Pittman and wife Corrie of Chandler, their children Chayse, Macey-Rae and Easton; Joseph Pittman and wife Raye Lynn of Jones; Lesley Pittman McConnell and husband Tucker of Wellston, their children Taylor, Tate, Kirbey and Autrey; Brad Pittman and wife Megan of Chandler, their children Kodey, Halle and Tyson; Jordan Pittman and daughter Addison of Wellston; brother Boyd Pittman of Ada; sister, Jeanne Grasse of Peta Luma, California; along with many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
A funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2016 at the Lehman Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Wellston Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
