OLETA MARY OSBORN
1917 - 2014


Oleta Mary Lee Osborn was born February 7, 1917 in Arkansas City, Kansas to Homer Levi Lee and Bertha Lee Meeks.
She passed away January 30, 2014 in Meeker, Oklahoma at the age of 96.
Oleta worked for a short time during the war at the Douglas Air Force Base which is now Tinker. She later worked in the Central State College cafeteria and later the Wellston School cafeteria where she retired.
She was a long time member of the Wellston Christian Church.
Oleta enjoyed reading and quilting but she loved her children and grandchildren. She was a kind spirited lady who was a grandmother to many even outside of her family and a friend to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ike Osborn; children, Herbert Stingley, Beulah Mae Want, Mary Ann Stingley, Denton Osborn, Noel Osborn, Janis Steffens, June Evans and Vivian Cobb.
Survivors include her children, Lenora Forwoodson of Wilburton; Carol Helton of Shawnee; Jimmy Osborn of Moore; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 3, 2014 at the Wellston Christian Church with interment following in the Wellston Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
