DELMER MOTLEY
1926 - 2014


Delmer Motley was born on September 1, 1926, in Okemah, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Monday, February 17, 2014, in Seminole, Oklahoma, at the age of 87.
Delmer, the son of Earl and Neva Rupp Motley, was a long-time resident of Prague.
He married Lois C. Motley on June 4, 1945, in Anadarko. They were married for over 62 years until Lois' death in 2008.
Delmer proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. After the war, he moved his young family to California where he began a career in the fence building industry. In 1970, he moved to Hydro and started his own fencing company. In 1983, he sold his business in Hydro and moved to Prague. He bought a farm and also worked at Tommy Smith's Texaco until retirement. After retirement, he continued to work on the farm he loved.
Delmer's hobbies included fishing and gambling.
His parents, wife, three brothers, one sister and daughter-in-law, Sherry, preceded Delmer in death.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Motley of Prague; Vollie and Dorothy Motley of Prague; Donald and Kathy Motley of Shawnee; and Ronald and Melinda Motley of Prague; daughters and sons-in-Law, Elaine and Ron Boyd of Prague; and Sherry and Bill Yarbrough of Casa Grande, Arizona; eight grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 10:30 a.m., at Prague Freewill Baptist Church in Prague with Rev. Randall Miller officiating.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
