LEWIS RAY MOORE
1927 - 2015


Lewis Ray Moore was born on July 26, 1927, in Jefferson, Iowa, and departed this life on Monday, September 7, 2015, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 88.
Lewis, the son of Calvin Arthur and Jenny Butenhoff Moore, was a resident of Prague.
He proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
He married Joan Fuller in the Congregational Church in Baxter, Iowa on October 27, 1950.
He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education at Drake University. He worked as an office manager and training manager at the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission for 37 years. He coached basketball and softball and was a football referee for over 30 years, and was an avid golfer.
He was an elder, deacon, youth director and Sunday school teacher at First Christian Church in Prague for over 45 years.
His parents, three brothers and five sisters preceded Lewis in death.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Joan Moore of the home; sons and daughter-in-law, Timothy Moore of Prague and Bradley and Linda Moore of Edmond, daughter and son-in-law, Jill Ann and Chuck Sweazy of Edmond, two grandchildren, five great grandchildren, brother, Virgil Moore of Des Moines, Iowa, other family and friends.
As an expression of sympathy, the family has requested donations may be made to your favorite charity.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the family center at Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
