GEORGE THURMAN McGEE
1924 - 1997
Carney area resident George Thurman McGee died Wednesday in Stillwater at the age of 73.McGee was born April 7, 1924, in Midland, Texas, to David and Dora Hurston McGee.He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a painting contractor.He and his wife, Christeen, were married on December 16, 1961, in California.He had lived in the Carney area for the past five years, moving from California. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church of Carney and the Masonic Order.Survivors include his wife, Christeen McGee of the home; two sons, Tim McGee of Sunnyvale, California; David McGee of Madera, California; a daughter, Karen McGee of Los Oso, California; a brother, Tom McGee of Woodlake, California; and several other relatives as well as numerous friends.He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.Services will be 10:00 a.m. today at the First Assembly of God Church of Carney with the Rev. Darrel Gibbs officiating.Burial will be at Carney Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Chandler.
