GERALD ALLEN MARTIN
1943 - 2016


Gerald "Jerry" Allen Martin was born February 11, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois to Roger Kenneth and Marion Jane Hamm Martin. He passed away November 9, 2016 in Luther at the age of 73.
Jerry worked in the trucking industry as a safety coordinator for over 20 years. He served two terms as the Mayor of Luther and was active with the Jaycee’s.
He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Luther, enjoyed OU Football, watching golf on TV and spending time at deer camp. He was a courageous 40 year survivor of cancer.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his children, William Martin of Edmond, Teka Martin and her husband John Venable of Luther and Brian Martin and his wife Katrina of Luther, grandson, Dakota Martin, granddaughter, Ariel Hoffman, sister, Joan Wilson of Luther as well as other family and friends.
A memorial service for Jerry is pending and will be updated when details become available.
