JAN MARIE DOUGLAS
1955 - 2011

Jan Marie Douglas, "Mama J" age 55, dearly loved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away in her daughter's home in Lawton, Oklahoma on January 11, 2011.
Jan was born October 8, 1955 in Springfield, Missouri.
Jan loved so well. She was an incredibly strong, loyal woman who had a love for education, children, movies, music, theatre and travel.
She had been married to her high school sweetheart, Jay, for almost 38 years. Her daughter, Shiloh, was privileged to call her best friend. She adored her son-in-law, Matt and was a hard-core “Mama J” to her grandsons, Preston and Bennett.
She recently retired from the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond after 30 years of service as a computer programmer. She earned an MBA in 2002.
She served as a church nursery worker for almost 20 years at Waterloo Road Baptist Church and was a blood donor. "Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all." {Proverbs 31:28-29}
Jan is survived by her husband, Jay Douglas of their home in Chandler, Oklahoma; her only daughter, Shiloh Wolff and son-in-law, Matt Wolff of Lawton, Oklahoma and two grandsons, Preston and Bennett Wolff of Lawton, Oklahoma; brother-in-law Carl Vahldick of Willard, Missouri; brother John Bowers and his wife Trudy, of Owasso, Oklahoma; brother Steve Bowers and his wife Lori Dahm, of St. Louis, Missouri; sister Cindy Wilson and her husband Dale, of Buffalo, Missouri; step mother Virginia Bowers of Blue Springs, Missouri; mother-in-law Betty Douglas of Willard, Missouri; sister-in-law Linda Jackson and her husband John, of Willard, Missouri; sister-in-law Kelly Michael and her husband Richard, of Taneyville, Missouri; along with many nephews and nieces, aunts and uncles and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Aileen Bowers; sister-in-law Cathy Bowers; great-nephew Carson Vahldick; and sister Kay Vahldick.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Lehman Funeral Home in Wellston, Oklahoma; 334501 E. Hwy 66, Wellston.
