MARSHALL SCOTT DENT
1986 - 2014


Marshall Scott Dent was confirmed in death on January 15, 2014.
He was born January 23, 1986 to Scott and Pam Dent in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
He attended Pleasant Grove and Shawnee Public Schools.
He was a member of the Seminole Nation Tribe of Oklahoma, the Hvteyicvlke {Newcomer} Band and the Bear Clan.
Marshall was looked to as a protector to his three sisters. He was full of life and laughter and was always joking around with others. He loved to cook great meals for his family. He also was an artist and loved to draw.
Marshall had a son with Desirae Palomino of McLoud. He loved spending time playing with his seven year old son Montez who meant the world to him.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Orin L. Dent; uncle, Russell Walter Moffett; cousin, Susie Biggs Mercado; and great grandmother, Teresa Picard.
Survivors include his son, Montez Dent and his mother, Desirae Palomino; his parents, Pamela Dent and Mike Gettle of Shawnee; Scott and Tina Dent of Shawnee; sisters, Sarah Dent and Miranda Dent of the home; Emily and Ryan Rodriguez of Colorado Springs; grandparents, Winona Factor of Shawnee; Eastman and Stella Factor of Seminole; Diana Moffet of Toledo, Ohio; uncles, Mike and Patricia Factor of Tecumseh; Billy and Penny Factor of Shawnee; Glenn Factor, Matthew Factor of Keshena, Wisconsin; Mitch Factor and Laura Waukechon of Mt. Vernon, Washington; Jason Dent, Robert and Becky Dent of Toledo, Ohio; aunts, Karen and Larry Fullbright of Meeker; Nanette and Richard Hazelwood of Shawnee; Brenda Tingler and Danny Oliver of Cherokee, North Carolina; Vickie McGann of Keshena, Wisconsin; Marvis Kellie Biggs of Georgia as well as numerous cousins, relatives and friends.
A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2014 at the Temple Baptist Church, 1234 E Highland, Shawnee. Officiating will be Reverend Mike Craig, Youth Minister Randy Moore, and Reverend Kelly Tiger, Jr.
Burial will follow in the Little Cemetery in Seminole, Oklahoma.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
Donations can be made at any BancFirst "Benefit for Marshall Dent" to help his family with the expenses associated with this tragedy.
