BUDDY REX COYNER
1941 - 2009




Buddy Rex Coyner passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at his home in Cushing at the age of 67.
The son of the late Delbert Arch and Martha Victoria Britton Coyner, Rex was born on December 15, 1941 in Avery, Oklahoma.
He grew up near Agra where he was a starter for the basketball team during his junior and senior years. He also was a member of the FFA and enjoyed livestock judging. He graduated from Agra High School in 1960.
Rex was united in marriage to Patsy Ann Bradley on October 26, 1962 in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
In 1966 the Coyner family moved from Cushing to the family farm in the Happy Valley Community south of Cushing, where they ran a dairy farm for more than 30 years. Rex enjoyed feeding and watching his cattle that he, his wife, and son Brad raised on the family farm. He enjoyed pleasure riding horses and attended several trail rides in Western Oklahoma.
Rex was a longtime member and was an Elder of the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer for 20 years.
Survivors include his wife Patsy of the home; children Woody Coyner and wife Kim of Agra; Leann Coyner and her husband Tony Calvert of Gilmer, Texas; Rexanne Coyner and her husband Tim Winslett of Anderson, South Carolina; Brad Coyner of the home; brother Ronald Coyner and wife Iris of Chandler; grandchildren Andy Coyner, Mark Coyner, Jesi Coyner and Anna Winslett; and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Patsy Carole Coyner and two infant siblings.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 730 E. Cherry, Cushing with Rev. David Helmer officiating.
Interment will follow at the Lutheran Cemetery on South Kings Highway, Cushing.
The Coyner family requests that memorials be made to the Lutheran Cemetery Fund in care of the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 730 East Cherry, Cushing, Oklahoma 74023.
Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.
