ERNEST DENTON BAIN
1924 - 2012
Ernest Denton "Ernie" Bain died Wednesday in his home near Prague at the age of 77.He was born August 27, 1924, in Porterville, California.He was the son of Isaac Denton and Charlotte L. Goodson Bain.On February 23, 1952, he and Lucille R. Skipworth were married in Porterville, California.She preceded him in death on July 25, 1992 after 40 years of marriage.He had lived in the Prague area since 1997, moving there from Holdenville. He also lived in Prague from 1973 to 1978.While in Prague, Bain and his wife owned Rainbow Cafe and Bar.Bain, a carpenter, also had worked for Morgan Well Service in Prague.Bain was a member of First Baptist Church, Prague.Also preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Charlie Bain.Survivors include his two sons, John Bain and Richard Bain, both of Prague; a daughter, Neoma Cook of Copperas Cove, Texas; two sisters, Pauline Penning and Ruth Eggett, both of California; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.A memorial service will be held. The date will be announced by Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Prague.Memorials may be made to Hospice of Shawnee, Shawnee Regional Hospital, 1102 W. MacArthur St., Shawnee.Published October 11, 2001.
