Jane Marie (Novotny) McGill, a long time resident of Prague, passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at the age of 73. Jane was born on June 15, 1947 in Paden, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Charley Joseph and Jewell Marie (Janota) Novotny. Jane was one of 12 children and the twin sister to Jean. Jane grew up in Paden and was a graduate of Paden High School.

Jane married Luther James McGill in February of 1967 and the two had one son, C.L. McGill. Together, they ran McGill's Store for over forty years. Jane was also an avid gardener. She spent many hours tending to her garden and greenhouse. Each year, she raised a large produce garden that supplied her store with fresh vegetables and canning.

When Jane wasn't at the store, you could find her sewing, playing Bingo and any number of other card games. She also loved music and dancing. She was a regular at BJ's Corral, where she danced the night away.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, James Luther McGill; her parents and siblings, Betty Ann Novotny, Charles Novotny, Charlene Novatny, Jim Novatny and John Novotny.

She is survived by one son, C.L. McGill and his wife Melinda of Blanchard; one grandson, Dylan McGill of Tuttle; one granddaughter, Taylor Jewel McGill of Blanchard and six siblings, Don Novotny of Seminole, her twin sister, Jean Quary of Shawnee, Nancy Cagle and her husband Tony of Shawnee, Louise Wilkerson of Meeker, Frank Novotny and his wife Doris of Meeker and Dorothy Kroos of Prague. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, Jane's family has requested that donations be made in her memory to the Oklahoma FFA Foundation.
