Barbara Jean Necessary Smith

Barbara Jean Smith, 85, daughter of Roy C. and Lue Ellen (Loy) Necessary was born June 11, 1935 in Sparks, Oklahoma and went to be with her Lord on December 17, 2020.

Barbara had worked as a plant manager at the Chandler Sewing Plant and had worked part time at the Davenport Post Office. She was a longtime member of the Davenport First Baptist Church where she worked for many years helping with the funeral dinners. She also served as a Sunday school teacher for many years.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, Mattie Elizabeth (Betty) and Georgia Ellen (Jo); 2 brothers, Roy C. Jr and James Frederick; and husband of 61 years, Johnny Smith. Survivors include her children, Tony and wife Rhonda Smith of Depew, David and wife Judy Smith of Prague, Chris and wife Linda Smith of Afton; 6 grandsons, Dustin, John, Bryan, Steven, Tyler, and Jeremy; 1 granddaughter, Kristi; 12 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren along with other family and friends.

A funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 21, 2020 at the Davenport First Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Mitchell officiating and interment following in the Davenport Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
