Elois Mae Blaney Flanagan

Elois Mae Flanagan, 90, passed away on Saturday morning, September 17, 2022, at her home in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Elois was born on Wednesday, December 16, 1931, in Davenport, Oklahoma, to George Sr. and Virginia “Virgie” (Clark) Blaney. She grew up and attended school in the Davenport area. During high school, she spent a short stint in Oxnard, California, as a nanny. She graduated from Oxnard High School in 1949, before returning to Oklahoma. For most of her adult life, she worked in banking as a teller in Davenport, Shawnee, and Stroud, Oklahoma. She also worked at JC Penny, at the Shawnee Mall, for some time in the jewelry department.

Elois was a nature lover. She loved to garden, especially flowers. She was a very doting grandmother as well.

Elois was preceded in death by her son, Richard Leivas; her parents, George and Virgie Blaney; and her brother, George Blaney.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Larry Flanagan and his wife, Suzanne; daughter-in-law, Joyce Leivas; grandchildren, Julie Flanagan, Krystal Smith and her husband Gary of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Misti Keenon and her husband Greg of Norman, Oklahoma, Ginger Haggard and her husband Alec of Norman, Kimberly Leivas and fiancé Wesley Brown of Blanchard, Oklahoma, and Kelly Ketchum and her husband Trevor of Springfield, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Walker Smith, Addison Smith, Embrie Smith, Austin Keenon, Taylor Keenon, Ava Haggard, Caden Haggard, Lillian Ketchum, and Owen Ketchum; as well as a host of other family members and friends.
