James Lindel Buchanan was born January 13, 1943 in Hinton, Oklahoma to Clinton and Ila (Johnson) Buchanan. He passed away August 10, 2020 in Davenport at the age of 77.

James grew up in Springdale, Arkansas where he met Barbara Buchanan at a work camp where people summered while working through harvest season. They later married on June 3, 1961 and raised four children together. James settled in Lincoln County where he enjoyed the past 30 years.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Clinton and Ila; wife of 58 years, Barbara (Green) Buchanan; son, David Buchanan; siblings, Richard Buchanan, Jimmy Buchanan, Charles Buchanan, Mertha Ledbetter, Donna Ridenoure; granddaughter, Brittney; and great-grandson, Matthew. Survivors include his children, Debbie Chaney and husband Scott of Lawton, Connie Buchanan of Kentucky, Allen Buchanan and wife Becky of Wellston; daughter in law, Theresa Buchanan of Chandler; (7) grandchildren; (11) great-grandchildren; siblings, Jerry Buchanan of Wyandotte, Helen Guerrero of Wichita along with other family and friends.

A funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 15, 2020 in the Lehman Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Reverend Vance Bowman with interment following in the Davenport Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
