Lester Walker was born July 15, 1917 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma to Sam and Daisy Walker and passed away January 19, 1996 in Talihina Veterans Center, Talihina, Oklahoma. He was married in April 1941 to Velma Powers, they had one daughter. Lester was a farmer and rancher in Roger Mills County for 30 plus years. He retired from Aero Commander (Gulf Stream) Bethany, Oklahoma after 25 years.
Lester is survived by his wife of 22 years, Dinah Mings Walker, Whiteboro, Oklahoma, 1 daughter and son-in-law, Cherita and Dave Sherrill, Euless, Texas, 1 granddaughter and husband Dave and Jim Carson, Ft. Worth, Texas, 1 step daughter and husband Tom and Shirley Walker, Portland, Oregon, 1 brother and wife Bud and Louise Walker, 2 sisters, Marie Hayden of Cheyenne, Oklahoma and Anna Bingham of Anaheim, California, 1 sister-in-law Oma Lee Walker of Hammon, Oklahoma. He also had a long list of nieces, nephews and a longer list of friends. Two of those friends who should be mentioned were Roy McClellan of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Boyd Pettijohn of Whitesboro, Oklahoma.
Les you will be missed-you were one of the last of the ALL AMERICAN COWBOYS and an ALL AMERICAN DAD.....
