Carrie M. Kilgore

Carrie M. Kilgore, 80, of Muskogee, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001. She was born April 5, 1921 in McFarlan, N.C. to William and Hattie (Hurst) Morris. She was a U.S. Navy nurse in World War II and won awards for her outstanding service to her country. She continued her career in nursing after the war for many years. After marriage in July 1952, she chose to help her husband with a painting and decorating business.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jessie Kilgore; two sons, William Dennis Kilgore and Robbie Dean Kilgore; four sisters, Mae, Mary, Eva and Eunice; three brothers, Dewey Morris, James Morris and Howze Morris.
Survivors include one son, Kenneth Kilgore and wife Ladonna of Mulberry, Ark.; one daughter, Suzan Kilgore of West Siloam Springs; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; and other relatives and many friends.
Services were held Friday, Dec. 14 at 10 a.m. in the Roberts Funeral Chapel. Burial was at 2 p.m. at Shady Point Cemetery with Bro. Brad Jenks officiating, under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home of Westville.
