Palmer Marler Funeral Home

Jimmie H. Morton, age 80 of Cushing, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at the Chapel of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing. Reverend Larry Lehr will officiate. Interment will follow at Shadowland Cemetery on Walker Mountain in Heavener, Ok.

Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.
 
Jimmie was born on November 4, 1930 at the 101 Ranch in Ponca City, Oklahoma to the late Jackson Ray and Fay Audie (Phillips) Goforth. She grew up in the Tulsa/ Broken Arrow area and attended school in Tulsa. Jimmie married the love of her life Jack Morton on June 10, 1949 in Waldren, Arkansas, to this union three children were born. Jimmie was blessed with a gift from God with her singing abilities. She sang in choirs and sang solos her entire life. She was always involved in Bible Study groups. Jimmie enjoyed crocheting, cooking and taking care of her cats. She loved spending time with her family, especially her brothers, children and grandchildren.
 
Jimmie is survived by her son Curtis Morton of Broken Arrow, daughters Dr. Jacquelyn Martin of Cushing, Teri Su Nichols of Sallisaw, brothers Ted Goforth of Eufaula and John Phillips of Tulsa, sister Sherry Hicks of Broken Arrow, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
