John "Richard" Harper

John "Richard" Harper, 67, of Spiro, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2002. He was born Sept. 23, 1934 in Panama to John Floyd and Clore Lee (Ritter) Harper.
He was a factory worker. He loved working in his garden and especially playing the fiddle and making music.
Survivors include Aline Gollihar of the home; one daughter, Carlan Metcalf of California; two grandchildren; two sisters, Flora Harper of Stigler and Dora English of Stilwell; five brothers, Paul Harper of Spiro, James Harper and Robert Harper, both of Poteau, Tom Harper and George Harper, both of Bokoshe.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 23 with the Rev. Donald McAlvain officiating under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.
