Melvin Ray Roberts, 59, of Van Buren, Ark., died Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, in Van Buren. He was born Oct. 4, 1953, in Poteau to Willie and Vera (Godwin) Roberts. He was a carpenter.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Weldon and Bob Roberts.
Melvin is survived by a son, Tirrell and wife Heather Roberts; a daughter, Debbie Ann and husband Shawn Firestine; five brothers, James Roberts, Leroy Roberts, Delbert Roberts, David Roberts and John Roberts; three sisters, Neitta Greenbaugh, Ruthie Menke and Judy Hale; three grandchildren, Emily Lauren Firestine, Aiden Shawn Firestine and Kiersten Blaze Nicole Nicely; as well as a host of other family members, friends and loved ones.
Service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Grace Manor Memorial Chapel, Poteau.
Interment of ashes will be at Monroe Cemetery at a later date. Viewing will begin Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. until time for service.
