Robert E. Martin was born June 12, 1943 in Lumberton, Mississippi, the son of Sylvester E. Martin and Lavon (Davis) Green and died July 10, at his home in Cushing.
 
He was raised in Avant, OK and graduated from Skiatook High School in 1961. He served our country in the US Navy as a second class Machinist Mate from 1961-1964. He served during the Cubin crisis, the Cicely crisis and early years of the Viet Nam war.
 
Dr. Martin graduated from Southeastern State University with a degree in Biology and Chemistry in 1972, and was a member of the Alpha Eta Rho fraternity. He also, graduated from Logan Chiropractic College in 1982 as member of the Chi Rho Sigma fraternity and from Parker Chiropractic College in 2004 as an animal Chiropractor.
 
He was married to Dr. Jacquelyn Martin in 1983 in Tulsa, OK. He and his wife co-owned Martin Chiropractic in Cushing, OK until March of 2004. His retirement was spent fulfilling a lifelong dream of his wife in building a cabin on her family land at the foot of Walker Mountain in Le Flore County. During this time he was engaged in working with animals as an animal Chiropractor.
 
Robert had been an active participant in the Oklahoma Tennessee Walking Horse Association and Missouri Foxtrotter Association, where he showed his prize horse, “Mariah.” He won many state championships and national awards, he then retired his horse to trail riding in the Ouachita National Forest.
 
Proceeded in death by both parents and a nephew.
 
Survivors include his wife Jacquelyn Martin of the home. Two daughters: Nichelle Martin, from Stillwater, Amber Martin Franks and spouse, Dan of Coppell, Texas, 4 grandsons: Dustin and Ethan Melson of Stroud, Kyle & Cole of Dallas, TX, sister Karol Moseley and spouse Lynn from Dumas, Texas. A very special lifelong friend Don Graham, and friends Darrell and Darlene Lair, along with many, many friends who have been a big part of his life.
 
Casketbearers that will serve in Cushing are as follows Jason Davis, Mike Davis, Don Graham, Mike Graham, Lynn Moseley, Darrell Lair Casketbearersthat will serve in Heavener are as follows Robbie Knowles, Michael Knowles, Seth Nichols, Clay Morton, Matt Morton and Joey Munson
