William Guy "Bill" Donoley Jr

Bill Donoley, 91, of Wilburton, Oklahoma passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at his home.
 
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at the Jones Harkins Funeral Home Chapel with Bain Durant officiating.

The burial will follow at Lutie Cemetery under the direction of Jones Harkins Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be C.J. Woodruff, Kyle Britt, Kyle Moody, John Gibson, Zac Chavez and Brandon Crouch. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons, great-grandsons and all of the A-OK Crew.

Bill was born on March 3, 1928 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to Gertie Lee Dunnington and William Donoley. He married Billie Fran Covoleskie on June 9, 1948. They had five children. Bill worked as a roofer, for Southern Ice, cable TV and was a salesman for a TV and appliance store. While he worked with the cable company, he built the cable systems for Wilburton, Red Oak, Wister, Cameron, Talihina, Wetumka, Antlers, Clayton and Haileyville. After he retired from the cable company, he went to work for the A-OK Railroad as a signal maintainer and a locomotive engineer for 20 years. Bill was also the Wilburton Fire Chief and fireman for 22 years, served as a Wilburton City Councilman for 4 years, member of the Scottish Rite Temple Valley of McAlester and a member of the Eastern Star and a Rainbow Dad. He was a veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years: Billie of the home; his sons: Guy Donoley and wife, Penny, and David Donoley and wife, Patricia; his daughters: Betsy Donoley, and Becky McFadden and husband, Cary; his grandchildren: Tiger Donoley and wife, Diane, J.R. Donoley and wife, Sonja, Heather Watson and husband, Bryan, Chad Donoley, Eric Donoley and Jodi McKay, and Bridgett Owens all of Wilburton; 7 Great Grandsons, Cody Donoley, TJ Donoley, Chet Donoley, Hunter Donoley, Reed Williams, Wyatt Williams, Hudson Williams, A Great granddaughter Ava Watson all of Wilburton; and special friends: Sue Wagnor, Dr. Ricardo Valbuena and David Ward.

Bill is preceded in death by his grandmother, Elizabeth Dunnington; his mother: Gertie Lee Dunnington; his father: William Donley; daughter: Beth Donoley Owens; brother: Darrell Donley; sisters: Ramona Wilkerson and Doris Jones.
